UU Sources of Wisdom

Unitarian Universalists come from two liberal Christian traditions that joined together in 1961. The sources in our living faith have expanded to include many wisdoms. ~uua.org

One. Direct experience of that transcending mystery and wonder; Two. Words and deeds of prophetic people; Three. Spiritual and ethical wisdom from the world’s religions; Four. Jewish and Christian teachings of God’s love; Five. Humanist teachings to heed reason and science; Six. Spiritual teachings of Earth-centered traditions.
Seven. Our own UU traditions.
The first six sources as in the bylaws of the Unitarian Universalist Association. Some people, including myself, add the seventh.
